Tatler Magazine says Kate Middleton and Prince William's legal action against the magazine is "unjustified".

Tatler magazine has dismissed legal claims from Kate Middleton and Prince William in response to the magazine's profile of Kate (opens in new tab) published earlier this week. The article claimed that Kate was "furious" with her workload after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left as senior royals, adding that the Duchess of Cambridge felt "exhausted and trapped." The article also speculated about Kate's weight, calling her "dangerously thin" and claiming that she and Meghan "never got along."

Kensington Palace, in a rare move, issued a statement about the article, declaring that it contained "a litany of inaccuracies and falsehoods." (In response, Tatler said that it "stands by" writer Anna Pasternak's reporting and that Kate and William were aware that the article had been written.) In addition, Kate and William's attorneys reportedly sent a "legal letter" to Tattler demanding that the article be removed from the site.

In a statement obtained by the Evening Standard (opens in new tab), Tattler confirmed that it had been contacted by Kate and William's lawyers and denied that their claims were legitimate.

"We can confirm that we have been contacted by lawyers representing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and we see no merit in their content," the statement reads.
