Prince Charles says he is "terribly sad" not to see his grandchildren during lockdown

With the United Kingdom on lockdown due to a coronavirus outbreak, Prince Charles has revealed that he will not be able to see his grandchildren. The future king, grandfather to Archie, Charlotte, Louis, and George, told Sky News (opens in new tab) that he is "terribly sad" to be separated from his family.

Prince Charles spoke about not seeing his father Prince Philip, who will celebrate his 99th birthday on June 10. 'I haven't seen my father in a long time. He's turning 99 next week, and we're on FaceTime, which is great ......."

"Fortunately, at least we can talk on the phone and do these things sometimes. But it's not the same, is it?""You really just want to hug people," Prince Charles said.

Prince Charles said he was "fortunate" that his own coronavirus infection was relatively mild and that it was "fairly mild." He also spoke of his belief that a "green recovery" from the pandemic was essential, as was his own previous efforts to address climate change.

"The bottom line is that if we want to avoid more serious conditions and more disease in the future, we have to find ways to ensure that over the next decade. Because if we don't, we will lose the battle against accelerating climate change and global warming."
