Prince William and Kate Middleton Celebrate Volunteer Week with New Family Photo

The Cambridges (opens in new tab) are doing their part to promote and honor the work of volunteers across the United Kingdom. The Royal Family shared a new post on social media for Volunteer Week, which is celebrated annually from June 1-7 to honor volunteers and their contributions.

On Saturday, Prince William and Kate Middleton (opens in new tab) took to their official Instagram account to not only commemorate Volunteer Week in general, but also to share their experience of giving back to their community by sharing a never-before-seen new family photo ( (opens in new tab)) was released. The photo, which shows Will holding an umbrella for his two oldest sons, Prince George (opens in new tab) and Princess Charlotte (opens in new tab), was taken by the Duchess of Cambridge herself.

In the caption of the photo, Kensington Palace writes:

As we approach the end of #Volunteer Week (opens in new tab), the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did their part in a nationwide volunteer effort when the Duchess took We are pleased to share these new photos.

In April, the Duke and Duchess and their families visited Sandringham Manor to pack and deliver food parcels to isolated local pensioners.

Today, Her Majesty the Queen sent a message to volunteers around the world.

The Queen praised those who took part in the event, saying, "I send my heartfelt congratulations to all those who give of themselves so selflessly for the benefit of others."
