Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Fans Plant a Tree for Archie Harrison

Inspired by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's commitment to the environment, Sussex fans launched their own campaign, launching the "Sussex Great Forest" initiative in November 2019.As reported by Harper's Bazaar (opens in new opens in new tab), the campaign's initial goal was to plant 10,000 trees around the world in honor of Meghan, Harry, and Archie (opens in new tab), but by May 6, Archie's first birthday, over 115,000 trees had been planted.

In a recent Twitter update, the campaign revealed a new addition to the thousands of trees planted around the world. Upstate New York supporters planted 530 trees at the formerly abandoned Woods Ravine Farm and named the new grove "Archie's Woods." On Instagram, the Sussex Great Forest team wrote (opens in new tab)." As Archie continues to grow, it is wonderful to know that #Archie'sWoods will grow with him."

Archie's cousin Prince George also has a forest named after him, his grandfather Prince Charles shared in 2018.In the BBC documentary "Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70," the Duke of York, for his oldest grandson He revealed that he planted trees in the arboretum for them, and as Harper's Bazaar (opens in new tab) reported, he said, "As I get older, what I really crave is to plant trees."
