Watch Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade lovingly celebrate their daughter Zaya's 13th birthday.

Zaya, daughter of Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade, celebrated her 13th birthday on May 29, and on Friday her parents gave her the birthday party every young teen dreams of. Zaya introduced the party theme in this Instagram post with a photo of her wearing purple braids, yellow and black tights, and a green and black corset top:

In another post of her and her friends' outfits, "??????????? ✊???????????????????????????????????????? "

She wrote: "I'm so happy to be here!!! #happypride?"

Zaya's parents conveyed a heartfelt message on her birthday." Best day ever! So happy to make her 13th birthday special," Union wrote on the day of the party." She was surrounded by love and had the best time!"

.

On Zaya's actual birthday, Wade wrote the following for his daughter: "I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge Zaya on her 13th birthday: ‼️, I woke up every day this week feeling down and unable to trust people. But waking up and seeing you smile, seeing you walk the path of truth and live your life your way is one of the greatest gifts I could have experienced in my life. In a world where skin color is considered a threat, you remain the bravest person I know. I love you more than words can express. I hope you feel my love today and every day to come. You are bold, you are brave, you are Zaya, Happy Birthday we LOVE you‼️"

Union wrote: "Happy Birthday baby!!! I wrote! I can't believe you are 13! Zayawadeh inspires and motivates me to fight every day. When I'm tired, frustrated, angry, I see your face, your joy, you living your best life. I wish that for all of us! Enjoy this day and every day knowing that you are loved, protected, respected, admired, and blessed. ♥️♥️♥️♥️"

In February of this year, Wade revealed on "The Ellen Show" that Zaya is a girl and uses her/his pronouns.

"My 12-year-old Zaya came to my house and I don't know if you all know this, but her name was originally Zion, and Zion was born a boy. I think I am ready to live my truth going forward. And I want to be referred to as her or her. I want you to call me Zaya,'" Wade recalled.

Next, he said he and the union worked to learn as much information as they could about the transgender community and what their daughter might experience.

"That was our job, to go out and get information, to reach out to any relationships we had. My wife reached out to all the actors in 'Pause' (open in new tab)," Wade said. 'We just tried to figure out as much information as we could to make sure we were giving the kids the best opportunity to be their best selves.'

In March, Zaya made her first red carpet appearance at the Truth Awards (opens in new tab) in Los Angeles in March." Guys, allow me to re-introduce myself to her, her name is Zaya Wade!" Wade wrote at the time. She continued, "Last night was Zaya's first red carpet appearance and we are so proud of how she handled the questions she was asked. She is the young face and voice of the LGBTQ+ community."
