Angelina Jolie's (opens in new tab) divorce from Brad Pitt (opens in new tab) shocked fans around the world. But the actress has now moved on from her marriage (opens in new tab) and has made it clear that she is putting her children first.

In a new interview with Vogue India (opens in new tab), Jolie spoke candidly about why she chose to divorce Pitt. The Oscar winner was asked how she maintains a "healthy environment" for her six children amid her high-profile divorce. Jolie said, "We separated for the health of our family. It was the right decision. I continue to focus on their healing."

She said, "I am not a "healthy environment.

She continued. "Some take advantage of my silence, and the children see lies about them in the media, but I remind them that they know their own truth and their own hearts. In fact, they are six very brave and very strong young people."

The actress and activist previously told Harper's BAZAAR (opens in new tab) that she is currently living in the United States so that her children can be near their father (opens in new tab). Jolie added, "I want to live abroad and will do so as soon as my children turn 18. Right now, their father has to choose where they will live."

"My body has been through a lot in the last 10 years, especially the last 4 years, and I have both visible and invisible scars," Jolie revealed.
