Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sign with major speaking agency

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry (opens in new tab) have made a significant move in their post-royalty careers by signing with the Harry Walker Agency, a top-tier speaking agent, People has confirmed (opens in new tab), according to People, the Sussexes will be booked by "trade associations, businesses, and community forums" to speak on topics such as "racial injustice, gender equality, mental health, and environmental issues."

Meghan and Harry join a number of big names at the New York-based agency: Michelle and Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Hillary and Bill Clinton, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Stacey Abrams, Gloria Steinem, Alex Rodriguez, Tina Fey, and Jane Goodall, among others. Winfrey and Goodall are already longtime friends with the Sussexes, and the royal family reportedly had dinner with Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez (opens in new tab) earlier this year.

The Sussexes also plan to launch the nonprofit Archewell (opens in new tab), but have delayed the inaugural project until 2021 to focus on both the Black Lives Matter movement and the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.According to People, Meghan Queen and Harry are "holding conference calls with community leaders and organizations" regarding the "Black Lives Matter movement" to "see what role they can play."

Commenting on the delay in the launch of Archewell, a royal official told The Telegraph (opens in new tab), "The people of Archewell have been very busy. They are trying to settle into a new life, a new era. This is about getting it right and allowing them to make the difference they want to make," he added.
