Kate Middleton leaves a rare personal comment on a follower's Instagram.

Kate Middleton is getting personal on social media! In a rare move for the Duchess of Cambridge, she commented to a series of Instagram entrants in her public photo project "Hold Still" about the Coronavirus pandemic (opens in new tab). Kate launched the project in May with the National Portrait Gallery, calling on the British public to photograph their own experiences with the pandemic.

As People reports (opens in new tab), she personally commented on eight Instagram posts, signing each message with a "C" (Kate actually prefers to go by Princess Catherine these days)!

Regarding the photo above of a man named Ben, who lives in London, in a planted area, Kate wrote, "Thanks for joining the Hold Still Project. I too find great joy in gardening outside. c."

In a snap of an NHS nurse named Christine, Kate writes, "I'm so glad you're doing this." Thank you so much for sharing your story and for the wonderful work you all continue to do in these difficult times. c."

Kate called the photo of the woman and baby waiting by the socially discriminated window "a wonderful image" and "thank you for joining us." C."

The Duchess of Cambridge also responded to the photo of the applicants' parents in the garden shed, saying, "Thank you for sharing your story. This time has allowed us to stop, think, and reminisce. c."

On a photo of a homeschooled little girl slumped over a desk, Kate wrote, "I am so glad you took the time to share your story with us! Thanks for joining us and sharing your story!!!C."

As People reports, she also commented on a photo that was deleted after a girl named Elodie took a picture of her and her grandparents at a park to see ducks, writing, "Such a great image and a very touching story," wrote C.

Kate responded to a photo of a toddler blowing off dandelion seeds, writing, "A perfect example of Hold Still.... A chance to re-engage and cherish the simple things around us." c."

She also commented on a photo of a 4-year-old getting a haircut at home and wrote, "Love this! You are a photographer's egg!"
