After Simone Biles was eliminated from the team finals (opens in new tab) and the individual all-around (opens in new tab) at the 2020/2021 Tokyo Olympics, her sister Adria Biles rushed to support her. She tweeted, "I can't imagine being that inconsiderate WHEWWWW." This obviously refers to the nasty comments that have been made about the star gymnast's choice to abstain from the competition for her own health. But this is not the first time AdriĆ , who is two years younger than her famous sibling, has shown unwavering support: she has a history of fierce loyalty to Simone (open in new tab), and the two have always had a very close relationship. So what do we know about AdriĆ ?

Adria is actually one of Simone's four biological siblings: they also have a brother, Ron Jr. and a sister, Ashley Biles Thomas. According to Twitter (opens in new tab), Adria is enrolled in dental school and is pursuing a career in hygiene.

The sister of the famous gymnast is actually a former gymnast; she started at age 9 and went on to compete at the junior elite level (opens in new tab), where she trained with Simone until 2016; they also have two children, Simone at age 6 and Adria at age 4, who were adopted by their parents, Ron and Nelly ( They stayed together in the foster care system until they were adopted (opens in new tab) together by their parents, Ron and Nellie (opens in new tab)

Adria told ESPN (opens in new tab) about Simone, adding that "my sister is fearless," and that "when she was little, she stood on the railing on the second floor of our house and I jumped off onto the couch downstairs. She went first and I followed. We were both gymnasts, so we were always trying different things in the house. Nothing scared her. "In a June 2021 Facebook Watch documentary (opens in a new tab), she says her sister grew up "bossy" and the two "were always fighting: ...... But my sister is my best friend."

What Adrienne thinks of her sister is easily seen on her Twitter (opens in new tab): her profile is pinned to "my sister is amazing." She has also often amplified and supported her sister (opens in new tab), such as with her nasty comments after Simone went public about her sexual abuse (opens in new tab) and the anxiety she says Simone felt afterwards (opens in new tab).

Adria told ESPN that she was there to cheer her sister on during Simone's last Olympic experience: "Everyone was hoping Simone would win in Rio. Everyone was expecting Simone to win in Rio. She was under a lot of pressure, and she once told me that it was pressure like she had never felt before. She said it was hard to be expected and she didn't want to let anyone down. But I also knew I was ready," she said, adding that the two of them looked so much alike that they were even mistaken for each other (even though Adria was a few inches taller).

In a Facebook documentary, Simone spoke about the spectator restrictions at the Tokyo Olympics and how "strange" it was that she had no family to cheer her on: "They've never missed a competition.

Adri quickly defended her sister, in her typical supportive manner, after Simone prioritized her health and well-being at the Tokyo Olympics and after Simone was (unfairly) criticized for her decision (opens in new tab):

Adri's brother Ron also said, "She really needs them now need to be there. You are still the GOAT Simone and no one can take that away from you! You are an amazing woman and a talented gymnast. Simone's family is behind her 100%.
