The Circle" Season 3 cast: a guide

On September 8, a new season of "The Circle" will debut on Netflix, with new strategies, ploys, and messages from The Circle. This Netflix competition show is known for having many surprises, besides those who play under pseudonyms. By studying the past two seasons, the cast of The Circle (opens in new tab) Season 3 (opens in new tab) knows the gist of the topsy-turvy game, and this season is expected to be even more strategic and ruthless.

Netflix revealed the first eight players for The Circle Season 3 last week on a show hosted by Season 1 contestant Chris and featuring Season 2 winner Deressa (opens in new tab) and contestant Chloe (opens in new tab). As always, the new players have a variety of great personalities:

Here are the details on who they are.

Ava, a 25-year-old singer-songwriter and influencer, plays as herself, but brings along her 42-year-old sister Chanel, who manages her career. Chanel is very protective of Ava and says she is like a "Sister Mom." Ava currently has 227,000 followers on Instagram. She is also a contestant on the 22nd cycle of "America's Next Top Model."

A former professional soccer player turned private chef from Miami, 30-year-old Calvin is also a trained firefighter and on his days off is spent "saving cats from trees." In introducing himself to The Circle, he says his charm works "99.9 percent of the time." He doesn't mention anything about his game strategy, but so far he definitely exudes a Trevor-esque good guy vibe.

Instagram Michelle, 52, a standup comedian from South Carolina, says she has the "brain of a 20-year-old." Her extensive social media experience may help her in the game, as her comedy TikToks have garnered millions of views. She has received praise (open in new tab) from former Circle contestant Lee/River from Season 2.

She is also 4'4'' and brags that she can "jump on the speakers at the club and dance." The Circle is not her first game show appearance; she and her family have previously competed on an episode of Family Feud.

Instagram: Danielle, 20, a college student from Florida, says her driving force in life is "Be. That. Bitch." He is a musical theater actor, a Disney fan, and a 2019 recipient of the Future Broadway Star Award from the Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa.

In his introduction, he says that he wants to "win so bad that (he) eats himself." He also thinks he has a pretty "intense" look, so instead of competing as himself, he competes as his best friend Ashley. He says of his friend, "When I see her, I just want to pick her up and smack her with love."

Instagram Nick, 27, an engineer from Austin, earned a degree in computer science from M.I.T. and was also a lacrosse player at the school. He says he has a "95 percent" chance of winning as long as he doesn't get knocked off balance by a pretty girl. Nick is also a costumed drummer with his dog (opens in new tab).

Instagram Nashville singer/songwriter Keisha A.K.A. Kai Ghost is a Southern belle who describes herself as "honest, super smart, and a little devilish." On her Instagram, she posts uplifting messages and celebrates "Act a Fool Day" (open in new tab). Her father is also a former FBI agent, which may give her special through-skills.
