Selling the Sunset" Season 6: Everything We Know

Since the series premiere in 2019, "Selling Sunset" has become designated viewing for reality TV fans, and the premiere of season 5 (open in new tab) in April 2022 proved it, as the show soared into the top 10. It jumped to #1 in the Netflix Top 10 on the day of its release. It even has an additional episode to answer all the questions that were not answered in the Season 5 finale: a reunion special that premieres on May 6. So what will happen to this reality hit after the reunion? Here's what we know so far about a possible Season 6 of Selling Sunset.

Netflix has yet to announce an official renewal, but Us Weekly (opens in new tab) reported last January that the reality hit had been renewed for seasons 6 and 7. One of the magazine's sources added that the cast will not begin filming the new season immediately so that the cast can take a "little break" before the new season. Also, Tan France said at the end of the Season 5 reunion, "Do a Season 6."

With "Sunset" and "Love is Blind" leading the current Netflix reality show boom, it is not surprising that the show is reportedly increasing the number of seasons. Also, since this report came out after the season 4 premiere, one can assume that the streamer saw the fan reaction and said, "More please."

Most realtors are sure to return, including Jason and Brett Oppenheim, Krischelle Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Amanza Smith, Heather Ray El Moussa, Emma Hernan, Davina Potraz, and Chelsea Razkani. As for the cast members whose futures are up in the air after season 5, including Christine Quinn (open in new tab), Maya Vander, and Vanessa Villella, it will probably depend on their personal schedules. Maya, who received a pseudo goodbye lunch this season, told E. News (opens in new tab) that she will likely not be a full cast member in the upcoming season.

"I probably won't be a full-time cast member because going back and forth again is going to be logistically difficult, especially with a third child. Realistically speaking, if the show is renewed for another season, I'm going to focus more on Miami, my family, and the business here."

Some of the cast members have made significant changes in their lives and work since filming for season 5 ended. Maya announced last February that she had opened her own brokerage, Maya Vander Group (open in new tab), in Miami (still listed on the Oppenheim Group website).

Christine also launched her own real estate company (open in new tab), RealOpen, with husband Christian Dumonte. After Jason Oppenheim told the O Group that there was "no place" for her, Christine fired back on TikTok: "Of course there is no place for me. I cancelled my contract a few weeks before the shoot." But that doesn't mean she won't appear on Selling Sunset-Christine told Daily Pop: "It means that come the new season, we may have to get a little creative because it's going to be like a brokerage battle, So that will be fun."

On the romantic front, Vanessa's boyfriend, Nick Hardy (opens in new tab) (aka Tom Fraud), upgraded her promise ring to an engagement ring. He proposed to her last January, and Vanessa shared a video of the proposal, which took place at sunset at the Griffith Observatory in LA.

Heather also made a big decision in family planning. The realtor underwent IVF treatment last December and documented the process on social media (opens in new tab). In an interview last week with Page Six (opens in new tab), she said she plans to wait to have the baby. 'I already have two children and I'm balancing work, life, and family. I felt like my body wasn't ready," she said, adding that she wanted to feel "very excited, not stressed, not overwhelmed" during her pregnancy and that "I'm not in that state right now." "

Krischelle has also met someone who may appear with her in some new episodes. The former soap opera actress revealed in the Season 5 finale that she is dating Australian nonbinary singer G Flip (hey/them pronouns) and appeared in their "Get Me Outta Here" music video.People" (open in new tab ) said that they even live together and that their relationship may be portrayed in season 6.

In recent interviews, several of the cast members have discussed major life updates that may be portrayed in the upcoming season. Mary Fitzgerald confided to Distractify (open in new tab) about starting the egg freezing process and said that Krischel and Heather have guided her through it.

"She [Heather] definitely gave me advice on what to expect in the process and if I should do it during the shoot.

She added, "I think we're putting our lives out there for everyone. So we don't want to get too hormonal or bloated [during filming]. But again, that comes with the territory [of being on a reality show]," Mary continued, obviously thinking about privacy but also embracing the idea. It depends on what the doctor says. I'm working on the first part right now, but if the shoot goes well, I'll probably go ahead and have the camera follow me."

Krischel also opened up about her future family plans: in an interview with People (open in new tab), she said that she is "open to all options" when it comes to having children.

"I hope it happens, but if it doesn't, I feel like I can do it on my own," she said.

"As scary as that sounds, I feel a little freer knowing that I'm not bound by the idea that I have limited time to figure it out."

"It's 2022 and we have to consider every option. But if we don't find one, so be it."

In an interview with TODAY (opens in new tab), new addition Chelsea said she is ready to return for more episodes.

"I hope to be in future seasons, I hope to be in future seasons. This season I came in and it was really about me proving myself," she told the outlet, adding that she wants to show the tough moments of being a working mother." I want to hone in on some of those vulnerable, tougher moments. To show that it's not all Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Louboutin heels," she said.

Season 5 also featured a scene set in the Oppenheim Group's massive new offices in Newport Beach, reminding viewers that another "Selling" spinoff is scheduled to premiere; Netflix has not announced an official premiere date, but it is expected to air on " Variety (opens in new tab) reported that filming on "Selling the OC" began last November, and the show is expected to premiere in 2022. The drama-filled trailer, which premiered at the end of Sunset's reunion special, was also released.

In a recent interview with Tudum (open in new tab), creator Adam DiVello hinted at a spinoff, saying, "It will have a male and female cast and it will be different." He also revealed that he worked with Jason Oppenheim when the broker was looking for agents and had the opportunity to "put together a cast" from among his real employees.

"The cast is wild from the get-go," he said. They have no filter. They say what they think. And it's a very drama-filled season.
