How to watch "Love Island" U.K. in the U.S.

Summer is here and it's time to meet some new Islanders. The British reality show Love Island returns for its eighth season with a traditional premise: young bachelors live in a beautiful Mallorca villa and try to find love (or gain enough popularity to instantly win the show's £50,000 prize money and Instagram fame).

For those who haven't checked this show out, it's a must-see reality show. The majority of the airtime consists of beautiful men and women relaxing around a pool in conversation, but there are some jaw-dropping twists and turns that will instantly shake up the dynamics between all the performers (two words: Casa Amor). Once you get into the season, don't be surprised if you cancel your plans to watch.

This cultural phenomenon has spawned several international versions and is airing here in the US (the third season premieres next week on NBC's streaming service Peacock (opens in new tab)). But there's nothing more fun than watching the original version and conversing in British slang for the next few months. And lucky for us, "Love Island UK" is available on the Big 3 streaming services.

The UK series is available for streaming on Hulu (opens in a new tab), and the streamer adds new episodes every night from Tuesday through Saturday at 12 am PST. But there's a catch. While UK viewers have been following (and tweeting about) the series since day one, the series did not premiere on Hulu until two weeks after it first aired. So if you already have Hulu and are ready to tune in, you'll be two weeks behind. (We recommend caution to avoid spoilers on social media.)

If you don't have Hulu (either because of frugality or living under a rock), this streamer has a generous 30-day free trial. This is half the length of the eight weeks of Love Island, so if you time it right, you can watch the entire show in a month. The Season 8 finale will air on August 1 in the UK and may be available on Hulu around August 16.
