The Queen has strong opinions on Prince William and Kate Middleton's kitchen renovation.
Her Majesty the Queen and Kate Middleton have much in common in that, as PEOPLE magazine says, "they both value discretion, loyalty, and duty," but they differ in some important ways, according to the magazine.
The Queen recently visited the Cambridges' country home, Anmer Hall. William and Kate moved into Anmer Hall in 2015 after extensive renovations, where they like to keep it formal, and "Kate has been known to come to the front door with one of the lasagnas she has baking in the oven with the kids," PEOPLE reports.
The Queen was a little less than impressed with the newly renovated kitchen, especially its eat-in area, and wasn't afraid to say so.
"I remember inviting the Queen to lunch when we had just finished renovating Anmer Hall," says Sally Bedell Smith, author of Queen Elizabeth: the Life of a Modern Monarch. There was a large kitchen and eating area, and the queen said, "I don't understand why everyone spends so much time in the kitchen."

Hopefully William and Kate will recall this anecdote before inviting Her Majesty to dine with them in the near future. The Cambridges will soon be moving to Windsor, which will bring them closer geographically to the Queen, who currently resides permanently at Windsor Castle; according to PEOPLE magazine, despite their differences of opinion about the kitchen, Her Majesty "friends say she will be delighted with the move."
