Fans hoping for a reboot or cast reunion of the "Modern Family" series may have to wait a little longer. Actress Sofia Vergara, who appeared on "The Tonight Show" starring Jimmy Fallon, spoke about the possibility of a "Modern Family" reunion." No, it's only been four years," Vergara told host Jimmy Fallon after he asked the actress if it was time for a franchise reboot. 'I don't know, but I don't think it's right. I think it needs more time," she added.
Vergara also joked that the cast may be running out of time before the reunion. Vergara told Fallon, "Well, Ed [O'Neill] is old, so we don't have much time." (Vergara played Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on ABC's hit sitcom and was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards during her tenure. The show first aired in 2009 and completed its 11th season on April 8, 2020. Modern Family also starred Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
In November 2023, Vergara posted a photo on his Instagram of nearly the entire cast of Modern Family hanging out together, fueling rumors of a reunion. The actress and TV personality captioned the post, "So lucky to have worked with these guys for 11 years." I love and miss you all!!!!" She also shared another series of photos of the cast on Instagram, captioning the post: "First Modern Family reunion!!!"
