Zendaya Kicks Off Paris Couture Week with Surreal Schiaparelli LBD
Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week kicked off Monday morning with none other than Schiaparelli. Since Daniel Rosebery took over as creative director of the house, the brand has promised three things: a buzz-worthy front row, surreal fashion moments, and a master class in up-and-coming beauty trends. Of course, this year's show was no exception, as Zendaya's appearance on the grandiose Place Vendôme fulfilled all three promises in one fell swoop.
For the past few years, the Schiaparelli show at Rosebery has brought the drama and grandeur that everyone desires when it comes to couture worn by our favorite celebrities, from Kylie Jenner wearing a stuffed lion's head at the Spring/Summer 2023 couture show to 30,000 ruby red Swarovski crystals by hand, and who could forget the appearance of Doja Cat, who was adorned with a hand-applied ruby-red Swarovski crystal? How can these memorable moments be topped off?
This year, all eyes were on fashion's favorite muse, Zendaya, as she attended the show in a head-turning all-black ensemble. The runway-worthy looks centered on satin shirred column-style skirts with dramatic trains, perfect for a windy Parisian morning. Dresses that debuted on the show's runway featured fitted long sleeves, inner corsets, and a bunch of futuristic knots along the arms. Of course, Lo Roach styled the couture look with Zendaya, black pinwheels, and, believe it or not, $5 knee-high socks from Calzedonia, which currently sell for $2. But the actor was not the only A-list celebrity in attendance at the show. Jennifer Lopez attended in a stunning look, wearing a coat made of real rose petals. Hunter Schaeffer, Zendaya's "Euphoria" co-star and current fashion darling, was also spotted entering Place Vendôme in a black strapless gown and a whimsical floral gold necklace.
This Schiaparelli moment by Zendaya is another to add to the books, following the 3D lobster skirt from the Italian brand's Spring/Summer 2024 collection at the CCXP comic convention in Brazil. With the press tour for Dune: Part 2 just around the corner, we can only hope for more avant-garde fashion moments between the "it" girl fashion brand and our favorite fashion girls.
