Dakota Johnson's pinstripe power suit bucks the "Mob Wives" trend.

Dakota Johnson has made it clear that she is not someone to mess around with. I mean, who could forget her subtle bite ("That's not true, Ellen") at Ellen DeGeneres nearly four years ago? But even before Johnson's most high-profile moment, she has long been adamant that she rarely tolerates BS, on or off camera. The actress's latest appearance further asserts that she is her own no nonsense type: Johnson wore a powerful pinstripe suit and turned TikTok's "Mob Wives" trend on its head.

Coined by creator and self-proclaimed "Mob Wife CEO" Sarah Arcuri, the style is all about animal prints, fur coats, flashy jewelry, and lots of leather. The look is very maximalist and very luxurious, just like in our favorite mafia-related shows and movies. Johnson, however, is the opposite of the TikTok trend. If anything, the actress has just made it clear that if she ever steps into mafia territory, she will not be a bystander. Forget the wife, Johnson wants to be a don himself.

On Tuesday, the 34-year-old was photographed leaving her New York City hotel on her way to a rehearsal before hosting "Saturday Night Live" this weekend. She wore a head-to-toe look by Bottega Veneta. The gravitas of her outfit came from the brand's pinstripe suit with a wool shirt and loose-fitting long pants.

For outwear, she chose a calm and luxurious black wool coat by Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta. Bottega Veneta's Andiamo bag in red braided leather and classic acetate cat eye sunglasses completed the look. Platform leather boots were from The Row.

Now, of course, we don't think Johnson is the kind of person to indulge in TikTok fashion trends, but we can't help but notice that there is something about her look that would definitely fit the whole "mafia" uniform. The fashion world is currently focused on the "mafia wife" - someone who exudes a faceless boldness and extravagance - but Johnson's crisp, yet powerful look completely belies that narrative. It is as if he is evoking the flamboyant energy of a cigar-smoking gangster's mistress without the "boom" (like less Carmela and more Tony in "The Sopranos").

Johnson's bottega two-piece is the perfect outfit inspiration if you're looking to participate in an emerging trend in a different way. Take off the fur coat and put on a power suit, and you won't need organized crime!
