Lily Gladstone was voted "Most Likely to Win an Oscar" in high school, and now the graduating class is gathering to watch (and hope) she wins.

Imagine getting an email from Leonardo DiCaprio and it was your old yearbook photo.

Well, that's exactly what happened to Lily Gladstone.

In high school, Gladstone was voted "Most Likely to Win an Oscar." She and her peers could never have guessed how true and how prescient those words were.

Twenty years later, she was nominated for Best Actress for her portrayal of Molly Burkhart in "To You, Flower Girl."

A yearbook photo posted on her Instagram went viral, although it was actually posted in 2017.

Gladstone told Entertainment Weekly, "It's funny, I only posted it when 'Certain Women' was getting accolades, when I was told it was on the long list of nominees for that year. For me, it was like that was the end of it. It was a great feeling to be in a film like that, or at least to hear rumors that I was on the short list, and it was like I had never even dreamed of it. So I was like, 'I'm so close, guys!' ' I posted something like that, and then I forgot about it; I put it on Instagram in 2017, and fans on Twitter took it down and accused me again."

She was one of the top five nominees for the acting award this time around, so it was more than a close call.

And her co-star DiCaprio, who plays Ernest Burkhart in the film, made sure to remind her of that.

"Then, when it started trending a bit, Leo emailed me that picture," Gladstone said. 'I was kind of surprised that Leo had access to my high school yearbook. He found it online, and for a second I was confused, like, "How did he get that?" I was confused."

It turns out that Mountlake Terrace High School's Class of 2004 is still rooting for her, planning an Academy Awards viewing party. According to Gladstone, it will take place in the old high school theater. How nice.

I hope she gets the award and we can all celebrate!

It is important to recognize that Gladstone is also making Oscar history. This is her first Oscar nomination and the first Native American woman to be nominated for Best Actress.

While Native American actresses have been nominated before, such as Yaritza Aparicio for Roma, Gladstone is the first from the United States. She is of Blackfeet and Nimiipuu descent and proud of it.
