Jennifer Lopez performs her sweetest take on Ribboncore.
Trends come and go, but Jennifer Lopez is forever. And when an icon gives her endorsement to a popular style, its staying power is greatly extended.
The latest trend the Hustlers actress celebrates is somewhat surprising: the ribbon core. Hair bows of all shapes and sizes have been seen all over the red carpet lately (see Kate Beckinsale's tiny ribbon-covered ponytail at the 2024 Golden Globes or Selena Gomez's giant black accessory in December), but the bombshell Jennifer Lopez does not scream so. Especially this repetition.
On Wednesday, January 24, the 54-year-old showed up in Paris for the Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring 2024 fashion show. For the event, she wore a gorgeous, fairy-tale pale green dress with a matching green and purple feather cape. While the ensemble was dramatic, her hair accessories were something else entirely: Lopez's new bob was partially tied back with a sweet green bow.
The hairstyle was likely the work of Chris Appleton, a renowned stylist Lopez brought to Paris. Appleton was also the stylist behind the edgy, flipped-over new bob she first showed at the Schiaparelli fashion show on Monday, January 22.
But whereas that look was edgy, this look, worn a few days later, was pure sweetness. Lopez's short hair was loosely curled and parted deeply to one side. The hair on the left side was pinned back and secured with a ribbon, while the hair on the right side was left wavy and draped over her face as she waved to fans outside the Palais de Tokyo and mouthed "I love you." So soft, so sweet. This is her now.
