Dua Lipa Completely Embraces the Trend of the Souled Beauty on the Cover of "Rolling Stone" Magazine
Dua Lipa is entering a new era, and judging by this stunning cover photo for Rolling Stone magazine, I welcome it very much. [The 28-year-old pop star (and now actress) sat down with the magazine to talk work, love, awards, and astrology.
Ripa, with her burgundy hair, is also a huge astrology enthusiast. She is in the midst of a Saturn return and apparently has been dreading this ominous planetary event for some time.
"I get dragged down," she says. 'I thought 28 was cute.' (I'm 27, but I'm even more afraid of my next birthday.)
The past year has been a year of peaks and valleys for her. Her relationship ended and she parted ways with her management company. However, she has dated, received applause and award nominations for "Dance the Night" from the Barbie soundtrack, and even started a book club. She also stepped into acting, starting with a small role as Mermaid Barbie in "Barbie" and now appearing in the spy movie "Argyle."
"I'm taking resilience lessons," she said. 'Maybe you don't always have to be strong, and maybe that's okay,' she said. Then, after searching for a few words, she added: "I'm not sure I'm ready for that.
Despite being such a recognizable face and a well-known artist, many see Ripa as a bit of an enigma. She has a presence on Instagram, but her appearance is always her own. Lately, she has been keeping us up to date with travel photos, including many fashionable moments.
"I just like to live my life, do photo dumps, write songs, and dip. I'm not interested in being controversial or doing anything for reaction."
She seems to be concentrating on music and her new acting career, and can't wait for the release of her yet untitled third album. She told the magazine that the album is a tribute to British rave culture with a psychedelic pop twist.
"This album feels a little more raw," she said. I want to capture the essence of youth, freedom, having fun, and just letting things happen, good or bad. You can't change that. You just have to go with the flow of whatever happens in your life."
Now let's talk about that obvious face. The cover photo of this interview shows only her face and shoulders, half of her face covered with red hair. But a person like Lipa needs nothing more than that.
The look is very simple, minimal makeup: nude pink lipstick, a little blush, and mascara. That's all Ripa needs to shine on this cover.
Hopefully, we will see a continued movement towards almost nothing makeup, as we saw in trends like strawberry makeup and freckles in 2023. This #softglam look is a great way to get ready more easily and with less time and products.
Either way, we can't wait to see how this new era of lipa unfolds.
