Jennifer Lawrence pays tribute to the classic style of the '90s with Bottega Veneta head-to-toe

Known for its sophisticated minimalism, the 90s will never go out of style. But in 2024, the 90s are getting ready for a full-fledged revival. Bella Hadid recently wore an ode to the business casual aesthetic of the 90s, and style icons of the era like Gwyneth Paltrow and Caroline Bessette-Kennedy are reclaiming their spots on the mood board. The latest celebrity to fully embrace this revival of the era is none other than Jennifer Lawrence. Dressed head-to-toe in Bottega Veneta, Lawrence paid homage to classic 90s style, wearing a leather blazer, denim shorts, and a casual crew neck sweater.

When she and her husband Cook Maloney went out to dinner at a celebrity sushi park in LA, Lawrence chose an outfit that looked like it was cribbed from a 90s supermodel handbook. A brown leather blazer, cropped black knit, and relaxed blue jeans. In true 90s style, JLAW styled the outfit with pointed-toe black boots, a belt, and a black shoulder bag. She also added a simple gold necklace to complete the ensemble.

Surprisingly, not a single item from The RAW was in sight. Lawrence is known as a lover of this quiet luxury brand and almost always wears one piece, whether she is walking the carpet or in mommy mode; the two brands share a minimalist ethos, but Lawrence seems to be, at least for the time being, leaning toward the Bottega brand. For the time being at least, Lawrence seems to be leaning toward the Bottega brand.

The affable star has always had a penchant for timeless style, both on and off the red carpet (her dark blue velvet Dior gown at the 2024 Golden Globes was arguably one of her best red carpet moments to date). (It was one of them, and JLaw's golden Proenza Scouler dress at the after-party was equally memorable). But given that red carpet appearances are generally reserved for A-listers, why not start by taking a cue from her recent off-duty looks instead?

To replicate Lawrence's dressing style, one should focus on details. Her outfit is centered around two basic closet staples: loose-fitting blue jeans and a black knit. Lawrence also appears to have layered a black knit over a white tank (layering is an essential element of 90s style). From there, a wide-shouldered brown leather blazer is paired with a brown leather blazer, reminiscent of Cindy Crawford's classic pre-2000s style. Accessories are key here (note the belt, black shoulder bag, and simple gold necklace), and Lawrence's pointed-toe boots are a true refinement of 90s fashion.

We are always thrilled with any fashion direction Lawrence takes. But this latter off-duty, all-bottega elegance may be our new favorite. It's approachable, yet still has the energy of an "it" girl.
