Julia Fox, wearing only a thong, veil, and the bottom half of her wedding dress
If there's one thing we know about Julia Fox, it's that she always makes a (usually flamboyant) statement with her fashion. In the past few years, Fox has emerged as a bold and adventurous dresser, expressing her heart and soul solely through her clothes (or rather lack thereof). One of Fox's recent trends has been nuptial-related, with the actress and public figure dressing the part of a very sexy bride. Her latest look confirms that, yes, she likes to draw inspiration from "I do" dressing, but more than that, she likes to literally deconstruct that tradition. Fox appeared wearing only a thong, veil, and the bottom half of her wedding dress.
The "Uncut Gems" star was last seen at the Sotheby's exhibit in New York. There, she was once again photographed in a bridal-inspired look, the Fancy Club "Virgin Sex Symbol" dress to be exact. Her outfit consisted of a turtleneck one-shoulder white crop top with an elaborate ruffled veil. Both the asymmetrical top and headpiece hit just above her navel and exposed most of her midriff, down to the top of her thighs. She opted for a small black thong undergarment, the lower half of the deconstructed dress covering her legs. Whew! [The 33-year-old completed her look with white lace gloves and a matching mini handbag. She covered her eyelids with bold white eye shadow and dramatic winged eyeliner to accentuate her glamour.
Over the past few months, we have witnessed Fox incorporate the wedding dress silhouette on numerous occasions. The first was at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in May, celebrating the anniversary of The Art of Elysium, where she wore a transparent, nipple-baring halter top with a balloon skirt, the fabric surrounding her like a wrap-around train.
And at last season's New York Fashion Week, the designer wore a tinny-tiny corset gown with an incredibly long, fluffy veil to the Wiederhoff show. If Poodle ever gets married, we bet she'll have her eye on this gown.
She clearly loves to subversively incorporate romantic aesthetics. Just a few days ago, she wore a coquette micro bralette adorned with baby pink satin ribbon and a ruffled miniskirt, carrying a dreamy Simone Rocha pearl bag (for my part, I have been eyeing the same style since it hit the runway a few seasons ago). But the star of the show was the Fox lace bloomers.
The new year is less than a month old, and Fox has already presented a parade of head-turning outfits. We are not so surprised, however. We still don't know what her penchant for bridal gowns means (for all we know, it could mean nothing at all), but perhaps it means that she's getting ready to walk down the aisle. Or perhaps she is simply drawing inspiration from wedding-related fashions. There may be an "I do" in Fox's near future, but above all, she is firmly established as a source of sartorial inspiration for the big day.
