Margot Robbie running errands with mega-sized clutch bag
According to trend predictions, supersized giant bags will be the biggest handbag trend of 2024 (no pun intended). One example: Margot Robbie went out with a clutch bag that fits the very category of the supersize trend.
While running errands in the Santa Monica neighborhood, the actor opted for a classic oversized blazer and blue jeans combination, creating the effortless cool vibe everyone wants. Despite embodying all things Barbie on the red carpet, Robbie has a more laid-back approach to his off-duty style. Her attraction to oversized proportions and mastery of the art of layering has made her, unsurprisingly, a street style icon. One reason for this may be her recent penchant for Bottega Veneta. She wore a gray blazer over a simple white tank top, paired with straight-leg jeans and black leather mules.
We've been following Robbie's adventures into the Bottega Veneta era for some time now. Bottega Veneta's contemporary elegance is seamlessly paired with Robbie's personal style, and as a result, we recently got our hands on her best street style moments. Robbie is not the only celebrity with a penchant for Bottega. Jennifer Lawerence has also revealed her love for the luxury brand, wearing Bottega Veneta head-to-toe off the street, which is not too far removed from Robbie's look.
That said, Robbie's minimalist ensemble is set apart by a huge clutch bag. Yes, the huge handbag trend is a comical concept in and of itself and can walk the line of camp, but the way Robbie's look is put together fits the bag into the look like a missing puzzle piece rather than overwhelming the overall look. And she is not alone in her current penchant for big bags. Zoe Kravitz was spotted with a huge tote bag when she went out to dinner with Taylor Swift, and Kim Kardashian recently wore a mega-sized Birkin bag. Tote bags have always tended to be larger, but Robbie's oversized clutch bag suggests a true shift in the size of all bags in our wardrobes, not just carryalls.
I would love to get a "what's in my (frighteningly large) bag" video from Robbie, but I can only imagine what she is carrying. Perhaps a manuscript for an indie romance film she is making starring Florence Pugh and Paul Mescall. Or maybe it's an empty manuscript that she carries around for the vibes. Either way, before this trend becomes too mainstream, we're going to call it cute. If you're looking for a mega-sized clutch bag, scroll down now.
