Selena Gomez and David Henley Officially Announce Filming of "The Wizard of Waverly Place" Revival

Selena Gomez and David Henrie are set to reprise their roles in the Disney Channel cult sitcom "The Wizard of Waverly Place," Deadline reported.

Unfortunately, Gomez will only guest star, but Henry will make a regular appearance, along with co-stars Janice Lane Brown, Arcaeo Thiele, and Mimi Gianopoulos.

The Disney Channel posted a photo on Instagram of the show's script cover, which reads "WIZARDS "Pilot" written by Jed Elinoff & Scott Thomas."

Commenting on this, and playing Justin Russo Henry, who is reprising his role, wrote, "Get ready for the Russo family to be a part of your family again!!! 2024, the year [magic] returns ;)"

Disney fans went nuts in the comments section, with one writing, "Disney ....... yall better becareful with this"

Another wrote, "getting my crazy funky junky hat out of the closet for this"

Another wrote, "DISNEY CHANNEL HOW COULD U HAVE CHILLS."

As for Gomez, she shared her excitement about participating in the project on Instagram Stories.

First, she posted a screenshot of the Deadline article and wrote, "So excited!!!" she wrote.

Next, she posted a still from the show with Henry, writing, "WE'RE BACK."

And finally, she posted a photo of the script, simply saying "Home again."

The original series aired from 2007 to 2012 It ran from 2007 to 2012 and depicted the lives of the Russo children, who were all wizards and typically bad people (except for the good-natured Justin).

After the show, Gomez and Henry appear to have remained fast friends, with the Rare Beauty founder attending her on-screen brother's wedding in 2017. We literally can't wait to see them again.
