Taylor Swift's cashmere parka dress from The Row brings a change in her style
Just last week, Taylor Swift was strutting around New York City in a jacketless, leg-baring mini-dress (green, we should point out). The reason is that despite being in the height of winter, it wasn't that cold in the Big Apple. For the past few days, Swift has had its share of hot weather, record cold (finally, snow!) ) and what better way to fight frost than with cashmere? This time, Swift wore a hooded cashmere dress by The Row, styled with leather boots and a dark topcoat, also by the brand; the "Midnights" singer's latest look is understated, but for the IYKYK crowd, it says it all.
So, how good can a sweater dress really be? For now, let's dive into the when and where: Thursday night, the pop star arrived at Electric Lady Studios to prep for an upcoming music release. A few days earlier, after cheering on boyfriend Travis Kelce at a Chiefs game in Kansas City, she was seemingly in good spirits as she entered the venue.
Swift was photographed wearing an oversized long black coat and a hooded Iva oatmeal cashmere maxi dress from The Row to combat the cold. She completed her snow day outfit with the brand's chunky leather boots and carried a Manu Atelier suede mini handbag in her hand. Glamorous, she opted for a bright coral lipstick instead of the signature red and wore her blonde hair down.
Here's why we love this outfit so much. First, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen launched The Row (!), an ultra-luxury fashion brand in 2006. It's. Over the course of nearly two decades, the brand has risen to high fashion status, beloved for its minimalist yet clean-cut tailoring and sophisticated accessories. The Olsen's commitment to simplicity is admirable, and stealth-wealthy dressers and celebrities have been clamoring to acquire anything from this high-end label long before TikTok saw it as a trend, making it a symbol of quiet luxury. The award-winning fashion house has been worn by our favorite style stars - Zoe Kravitz, Jennifer Lawrence, Gigi Hadid, and many, many more - on their off-duty days.
With T-Swift slowly but surely joining The Row cult, perhaps this could indicate a sartorial shift in musicians. Of course, it doesn't! But there is no doubt that Swift will take a cue from his stylish friends and lean toward a more understated aesthetic and wear more TR pieces.
