Rihanna in a little black dress, baseball cap and diamond heels - just like RiRi.

The little black dress (aka LBD) has been a wardrobe staple since Coco Chanel introduced it in the 1920s. It is one of those styles that never goes out of style. Nowadays, there is rarely more than one way to wear an LBD: whether it is a knit loungewear dress or a corseted mini-dress, it can be worn any way you want! Adding your own twist to a classic is key to unlocking all its potential, and naturally, Rihanna's latest street style does just that: at a night out in LA, the multi-faceted singer wore a simple LBD. But Rihanna, the style icon we all know and love, has totally made this look her own. Let's break it down.

First and foremost, she centered the look around a classic black maxi dress with subtle ruffles throughout. But as we all know, the real fun is in the accessories. She arrived with a pair of Tom Ford mirror heels (which were enough to make a statement on their own) and a Gucci horsebit leather shoulder bag. From there, she added a casual touch to her night out look with a NY Yankees baseball cap.

Despite the "winter" weather in LA, Rihanna took the opportunity to show off one of her many signature statement coats. The selection for the evening was a long shearling coat by Dolce & Gabbana. It seems impossible to sum up Rihanna's best outerwear moments (even in recent months), but let's recall a few. Remember a few weeks ago when she paired her Giorgio Armani faux leopard coat with a sweat suit? Swoon! Or how about that huge purple feather coat she wore over a quilted purple jacket from the Chanel archives at the Fenty X Puma launch party?

We won't deny that pairing an LBD with a baseball cap for a night out might not be the first thing that comes to our minds, but we already know that Rihanna is no stranger to unlikely outfit combinations. She recently paired athleisure with diamond studded heels, and of course she pulled it off.

The LBD and baseball cap combination may not be the first thing you think of, but it's a great idea that we'll definitely be copying. If you skip washing your hair, no problem! Just wear a hat, and the 2024 Vision Board officially suggests mixing traditional casual items into your going-out look. Thanks, Lili.
