Christina Aguilera Kicks Off Las Vegas Tour with Her Best Rob
With the holiday season over, it's time for X-Tina to step into the spotlight, and on Saturday, December 30, Christina Aguilera took the stage at the Venetian in Las Vegas for the first day of her new residency, which runs through March 2. Along with a whole new show, she showed up with a whole new hairstyle: a chic side-parted lob hairdo.
The tousled hairstyle remained in place throughout the show and during numerous outfit changes. Straight strands of what appeared to be Aguilera's natural hair were colored her signature bleach blonde and parted to one side (or left, if you're wondering). The fluttery lob, positioned just around the collarbone, is reminiscent of the 43-year-old's late-'90s look. (Watch the music video for "Genie In A Bottle" if you don't believe me.)
In an Instagram post from the night of the inauguration, Aguilera tagged the artists who made it happen and detailed her glamour. Her hair was by frequent collaborator Igor Rosales Jackson, and her makeup was by renowned makeup artist Etienne Ortega, with cool-toned smoky eyes, big lash drama, and glossy lips. In the photos, we also get a peek at her gray chrome manicure, fresh and ready to grab the mic.
"Night 1," the five-time Grammy winner wrote along with a check mark emoji. The "Burlesque" actress has had hair this long for a while now, but she often opts to supplement it with extensions; in mid-December, she went to Las Vegas with her famous blonde locks in a long, sleek ponytail. There she saw Kylie Minogue perform on the Voltaire stage at the Venetian.
"What I love about the intimacy at Voltaire is how up close and personal it gets with the audience," Aguilera said in a promo for her new residency. Beauty enthusiasts and Christina lovers alike should take note. If you want up-close and personal hair and makeup inspiration, here it is. (at least until early March)
