Julia Fox in a sexy, Victorian look in bloomers.
Julia Fox loves bold fashion. Even though it's only January 3.
Whether it's tattooed skin shoes, belts as tops, or black veils, Foxx tries everything and looks very glamorous.
But this time around, even Fox isn't sure if she can revive this trend. We've seen the resurgence of low-waisted jeans and hair gems, and now Fox is looking to bring back another historical trend: bloomers.
Bloomers first came into vogue in late 1849 as a way for women to dress with more freedom and ease of movement. Bloomers were usually worn under dresses and allowed women to participate in gardening and other "feminine" activities.
Moving forward to the present day, Fox wears bloomers and a white mesh bralette with a long pink bow hanging down. Complementing the Victorian look are fingerless white lace gloves, which cover as much skin as the bralette. Finally, Fox wears Simone Rocha slim-soled shoes and a Simone Rocha pearl egg bag.
Make no mistake: Fox is channeling authentic Victorian style in this look. Well, except for the fact that this is the end of the outfit, since a glimpse of an ankle was considered revealing in Victorian times.
It is an answer to the question of whether any historical period can be transformed into edgy clothing, and an answer to the question of whether any period can be transformed into edgy clothing.
Perhaps next time we will see Fox's pilgrim look, with a big belt buckle and little else. Or, if we are very lucky, Fox will try his hand at an American Western-style outfit and prove that the "Little House on the Prairie" outfit still looks sexy.
There's no denying that Foxx's bloomers are gorgeous, and maybe even an unexpected fashion trend for 2024. Keep your eyes peeled and prepare to ditch the denim shorts.
