Naomi Campbell celebrates fellow supermodel Christy Turlington's 55th birthday.
Supermodel Christy Turlington turned 55 yesterday, and fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell took time to celebrate her "BFF" Turlington's birthday by sharing a series of photos of the two, calling her her "chosen family."
On Instagram, Campbell paid heartfelt tribute to her longtime friend and colleague Turlington, highlighting some of her favorite qualities in the process." HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO , my BFF, my first roommate, my chosen family for 37 years. cturlington!" wrote Campbell. "Intelligent, hardworking, loyal, caring, kind and ...... Always consistent. Proud of all the great work you are doing @everymomcounts. Enjoy your special day ...... We will always love you as we celebrate Mr. Turley." She signed it with three hashtags: # and a crown, a birthday cake, and a heart emoji.
In addition to a current photo of the two hugging, Campbell also shared images from model shoots of yesteryear.
Turlington and Campbell, along with fellow supermodels Cindy Crawford and Linda Evangelista, appeared in the Apple TV+ documentary "The Super Models" last September. Sisters Christy, Linda, Cindy, and I are so excited to share our story with the world," Campbell wrote in a post about the series.
"We hope that our journey, as seen in this documentary, will encourage, motivate, and inspire young people around the world."
In addition to being the subjects of the Doucas series, the four women also served as executive producers of the show and graced the covers of the September issues of Vogue and British Vogue, People reported. In a behind-the-scenes video of the cover shoot, Campbell told Vogue magazine, " My reaction was, is this really happening? Just the fact that Edward [Enninful, former editor-in-chief of British Vogue] and Anna [Winter, editor-in-chief of Vogue] and all of us were able to shoot together, it was a pleasure."
[15In the interview for the cover, Campbell referred to her fame in the 1990s, saying, "I'm blessed to have come up in that period. I don't think I would have wanted to rise in any other era. There was a sisterhood there, defined by compassion and loyalty. When one was down, they would embrace the other."
The "sisterhood of the time was a very important part of the life of the family.
