Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been together for more than seven years, and the way they express their love in public has clearly evolved along with their relationship.

According to at least one body language expert, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex now feel less inclined to PDA when they make public appearances.

"Harry and Meghan's relationship is evolving, and if you look at their body language, their public displays of affection have changed dramatically over the last few years," Darren Stanton told Hello! told

"When they started dating and became more established as an official couple, they were very affectionate in public, almost more affectionate than William and Kate."

They began dating in 2016 and became engaged in 2017, and as one would naturally expect from a new couple, they were often spotted holding hands, locking arms, gazing lovingly into each other's eyes, etc.

"I feel like things have toned down a bit lately," Stanton continued.

"I have seen them making less eye contact and not touching each other. They love each other and will do anything to support each other, but we tend not to see them being so openly passionate."

It is natural for a couple who have been together for several years to have less public contact, but we do not know what is going on between them behind closed doors: it is possible that they have endured so much criticism over PDA that they have deliberately chosen to keep their PDA low key.

Never was this more apparent than when the Sussexes held hands at a service for the queen after the late queen's death in 2022. This despite the fact that Mike and Zara Tindall were not accused of doing the same thing.
