The 56-year-old actress proved once again that she is a style icon on and off the red carpet. Last month, I was at a screening of her latest series, "Expat," admiring her stunning gowns. And now, on January 4, Kidman put us all to shame with a sophisticated yet understated airport look.

While most people were dressed in sweatpants and (dirty) hoodies, Kidman opted for relaxed gray and brown slacks and a cropped blue button-up. On his feet, he kept it practical with white sneakers. Finishing off the chic yet comfortable look was a brown knit sweater and a brown textured shoulder bag.

Kidman's iconic strawberry blonde curls are loose and she wears simple dark brown sunglasses.

Celebrities have always been assumed to be either svelte or glamorous at airports, but Kidman proves otherwise. She found a relaxed, comfortable outfit that she could wear straight to a meeting after landing.

A chic yet practical airport look is to opt for a cropped shirt or sweater and loose-fitting pants without a drawstring.

The actress was at home in Sydney to celebrate the holidays with family and friends. Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, threw a glamorous New Year's Eve party at their penthouse apartment facing Sydney Harbor.

Urban was present to drive Kidman to the airport, but like a true gentleman, did not see her through!
