Margot Robbie Transforms into 1977 Superstar Barbie at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards
It's Golden Globes night! This year's red carpet is all about colorful gowns, but no one stands out more than Barbie's Margot Robbie. Actress Margot Robbie also showed off her Barbie-inspired red carpet at tonight's Golden Globe Awards. The actress, nominated for Best Actress in a Musical at this year's ceremony, hit the star-studded red carpet in a stunning neon pink gown with a tulle hot pink boa to add doll-like glamour.
Her look was a completely sequined V-neck Armani (!) The custom-made gown consisted of an equally glittering tulle wrap and jewelry. True fashion fans will know that she drew inspiration from the 1977 Superstar Barbie doll. The actress and producer created this look with her longtime stylist, Andrew Mukamal. When Robbie hit the carpet, Mukamal posted a photo of the doll as a reference on his Instagram story. Her shoes were by Manolo Blahnik, and her jewelry included a 30-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond stud and a 3-carat D Flawless Old Cut Golconda diamond ring with a natural vivid pink diamond.
Her beauty was radiant with pink tones to match her gown. Her highlighted skin and flushed cheeks complemented her pink lips and fluffy eyelashes. Her iconic blonde hair was highlighted and shining brightly for tonight's festivities.
This is not the first time Robbie and Mukamal have drawn inspiration from iconic vintage Barbie dolls. Many of the actresses' looks from last year's Barbie press tour were modeled after the famous Barbie fit. At the film premiere in Los Angeles, Robbie wore a glittery black custom-made Schiaparelli Haute Couture number modeled after the 1960 "Under the Spotlight" doll. Last week at the 2024 Palm Springs International Film Awards, she wore a pale pink polka-dot dress. It's great to see her back.
