Dua Lipa to Wear Velvet Schiaparelli Custom Gown to Golden Globe Awards
Fashion and film geeks, unite! The Golden Globes are finally here, and a night celebrating film, fashion, and everything in between is about to begin. As the official kickoff to awards season, the Golden Globes will define the look of the year. Thankfully, Dua Lipa returned from her recent vacation in India (her colorful vacation wardrobe is top-of-the-line) to hit the red carpet in a gold Bone Illusion dress by Schiaparelli Couture.
Ripa, a presenter and nominee at this year's Globes (she is nominated for Barbie's song "Dance The Night Away"), wore a custom Schiaparelli gown with chic gold bone-like appliqués throughout the bodice The look was created by Danielle Rosebery. This look was the obvious brainchild of Daniel Rosebery (Schiaparelli's creative director): sleek, avant-garde, and appropriate for the "it" girl.
Styled by Lorenzo Posocco, the velvet bustier dress is embellished with diamonds and gold embroidered golden bones that mimic ribs, spine, and hips. A lace-up back and voluminous mermaid bottom added glamour.
Accompanying her statement dress was a Tiffany & Co. archival statement necklace boasting a large yellow beryl diamond. For makeup, she kept it simple, wearing her cherry red hair down and opting for a simple bronzed eye and nude lips.
We had hoped to see Schiaparelli's designs at this year's Globes. Last fall, Zendaya wore a Schiaparelli lobster dress to a press event for "Dune," and "Hibiki! Euphoria" co-star Hunter Schaeffer also appeared in a rainbow-painted Illusion dress from the brand's Fall/Winter 2023 Haute Couture show while promoting The Hunger Games: The Hunger Games: The The Ballad of Songbird and Snakes, which was being promoted.
