Florence Pugh shows off her most glamorous Mohawk at the 2024 Golden Globes
Florence Pugh is a punk rocker, and on Sunday, January 7, the 28-year-old walked the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards with her ever-changing hairstyle (she always tries something interesting! ), she walked down the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globes.
The dramatic hairstyle, paired with a sheer red Maison Valentino gown, was created by celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel, and is the most punk-inspired look Pugh has sported since shaving her head at the 2023 Met Gala. but this is the most on-the-nose. And it's working.
Abergel used Vertu products (he is the brand's creative director) for this look, first conditioning his hair with Vertu's Healing Oil, then applying Vertu's Volumizing Primer and Volumizing Mousse (one of our favorite volumizing one of our favorite volumizing products!) ) were applied to the roots. According to the hairstylist, the idea for this look was "born out of the essence of the teddy girl aesthetic, with elements of New Romantics and rock and roll."
To put the pompadour together, Adeel parted the top of Pugh's hair into a horseshoe shape. Next, she "swept the sides back, took vertical sections and twisted them from the bottom, incorporating the hair to create a beautiful twist at the crown," then secured everything with hairpins and blow-dried the top with a small round brush. Finally, Virtue's 6-in-1 Styling Paste was applied.
While the hairstyle deserves its own headline, we should also mention the color. The day before the awards ceremony, Pugh worked with colorist Matt Rez to bleach her hair an even cooler shade of blonde.
On Instagram, the Oppenheimer actress shared a story of the coloring process, with her dye-covered hair sticking out across her head in another punky (but red carpet-worthy) spike.
"One spike at a time," she wrote.
Pugh's makeup, on the other hand, was prettier than punk, featuring soft winged eyeliner and pink lips. The glamorous makeup was created by Alex Babsky, who showcased the entire Valentino Beauty soft look on his Instagram. Highlights included a V-light highlighter in the shades Umbra and Rosa, a Color Flip eyeshadow palette in When in Paris (used to create the softest blended shadows), and Rosso Valentino lipstick (cool-toned peach pink, shade 108A).
Pretty, punkish, and talented, Florence Pugh.
