Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lawrence are excited about Emma Stone's Golden Globe win.
One of the highlights of the Golden Globe Awards was about female friendship. This sweet moment was brought to us by Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lawrence. The two superstars are longtime friends with Emma Stone, who starred in Yorgos Lanthimos' Poor Things. Swift and Lawrence were among the loudest cheers in the audience when Stone's name was announced, and their epic reaction was captured on camera.
Swift was only briefly shown applauding and cheering along with a standing ovation for Stone, but Lawrence's reaction was captured in its entirety! Lawrence, the "No Hard Feelings" actor, had a joke ready when the CBS cameras showed each nominee before the awards were announced. But when Stone's name was announced, Lawrence raised his hands in the air and cheered with a high-five, then jumped out of his chair and looked around for Stone.
In a moving speech, Stone began by thanking her husband, Dave McCurry, for his help with Poor Things. She also argued that the surreal film, in which she played Bella Baxter, a woman with the brain of a child, should be considered a romantic comedy.
"I see the film as a romantic comedy. In the sense that Bella falls in love with life itself, rather than with people. She accepts the good and the bad equally, and all of it is important," he said of the film.
Stone had a hilarious response to her friend Swift's viral moment that night, with the actress balancing her appreciation for the sweet moment with her trademark dry humor, and according to Page Six, Swift's loud applause in the Globes press room When asked about it, the actress jokingly replied.
"I've known her for almost 20 years, so I'm very happy she was there. She was also nominated tonight, so I'm very happy she's there. But what a jerk," she continued.
