Julianne Hough shows off her new hair tonight

Awards shows are a great opportunity for stars to see and be seen, meaning that many celebrities choose this event to showcase their new looks. From hair color to fresh cuts, tonight's Creative Arts Emmy Awards was certainly an example of this phenomenon.

The look, a blunt blonde bob, is perfectly in line with this season's trends, from lightening hair to dramatic cuts, and Hough embodies the energy of winter 2023-2024 beauty with his new 'do.

"Cutting a lot of hair at once means releasing a lot of old energy at once," explains her hairstylist, Liauna Capri.

"Cutting a lot of hair at once is releasing a lot of old energy at once. It's really beautiful to see the tears you let go." But, she points out, "Jules didn't have tears! The opposite of shedding tears is often the excitement and overwhelming energy of letting go. That is what she had. She said three times, "I think I can go a shorter distance!"

.

The result was an ultra-modern, chin-length look.

Capri also explains that Huff's new style was created because he "wanted a bright, bold change for the New Year." Apparently, Hough "had been talking about going short for months. Then one day, on Dancing with the Stars, it hit her. She was ready. I could feel it. And we immediately started looking at the calendar to see when was the best time."[11

Hough's light blonde color with brown roots, on the other hand, is an R & Co. color. According to Capri, she used over 300 foils to achieve the soft blonde look and toned it to a "bright but buttery blonde."

This is not, however, an exercise she recommends trying yourself at home. If you want to cut and lighten your hair like Huff and Capri, consult a trusted hairstylist or colorist.

"I've been working on Julian's hair for 15 years," Capri says of Huff's trust in her. It's a great feeling to be able to go through so many changes over the years and still create something new. Especially in Hollywood."

"I'm very proud of the work I've done.
