Margot Robbie's 2024 Golden Globe Manicure Inspired by Plastic Doll Hands

At this juncture, Margot Robbie not only reminds us of Barbie when she appears on the red carpet, she is Barbie herself, from her outfit to her hair and now her plastic-looking nails.

Attending the 2024 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 7, the 33-year-old showed off a short, unassuming manicure that at first glance looked incredibly boring. (Especially when paired with a hot pink Armani custom-made gown inspired by 1977's Superstar Barbie.) However! her nail artist, Betina R. Goldstein, says the simplicity of the nails was entirely intentional.

"I wanted Margot's nails to blend in with her skin to create the illusion of Barbie doll hands," the manicurist wrote on Instagram. Genius.

So what kind of nail polish does Barbie use, usually whatever is in her mom's cupboard and guaranteed to get the dirtiest. But this time, it's Chanel.

"One coat of Chanel La Base to smooth the nail bed, one coat of Chanel Le Vernis (103-LÉGENDE), and one coat of Chanel Le Vernis (175-SKIEUSE). Finish with two coats of Le Vernis Le Gel Topcoat for protection and shine.

"Using Chanel Le Vernis Regende as a base color gives the nails a depth of beige, and adding a hint of sheer pink with Chanel Le Vernis Suisse blends her nails with her skin tone, giving her hands the look of Barbie dolls."

To prepare Robbie's hands, the manicurist exfoliated dead skin cells with the brand's Sublimage Purifying and Radiance Revealing Vanilla Seed Face Scrub and a few drops of Sublimage La Creme and Le Blanc Oeil Creator Oil, gave it a plastic-perfect glow.

"I love the attention to detail on this TEAM. It's perfect," a fan wrote in the comments of Goldstein's post.

This Barbie is a winner. And so is her mani.
