Amanda Seyfried added drama last night with a purple smokey eye.
Award shows are a great opportunity to analyze beauty and fashion trends. At these glamorous events, we get to see our favorite celebrities show off their best outfits in a limited space. For example, the trend for red, especially red hair, is confirmed. Purple eyeshadow, which was seen on Danielle Brooks and others even before the Golden Globes were held, is also now in vogue. Several celebrities wore this bright and fun shade on their eyelids last night, but my favorite part of the trend was Amanda Seyfried's plum-tinted smoky eye.
When you think of a smoky eye, you immediately think of charcoal eyeshadow with a bit of color mixed in. But when it comes to smoky eyes, the possibilities are as endless as the color wheel. Celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee used Lancôme products to blend shimmery shades inspired by amethyst on her upper and lower lids to create a striking look that can be recognized from a distance. The color was also applied to the edge of Seyfried's brow bone to create a dramatic Cleopatra-like look.
Because of the intensity of the eye makeup, Seyfried's beauty look was relatively subdued, using a nude mauve lipstick (also provided by Lancôme, since Seyfried is a Lancôme ambassador) and a minimal amount of pink blush. Meanwhile, hairstylist Renato Campola and hair assistant Sinaia Campola styled Seyfried's hair in a shiny, loose down style with a side part (another trend that has made a comeback in recent weeks). On the red carpet, Seyfried tucked all of her hair behind her ears so as not to distract from her smoky eyes.
If you'd like to try the look for yourself' fortunately, we know all the products used to achieve Seyfried's look, and we've listed them below.
