Kate Beckinsale's hairstylist buys a lot of ribbons for the Golden Globes

Hair bows have been all the rage for quite some time now, and it's safe to say that Kate Beckinsale has put the perfect bow on the trend. There are so many of them! And every single one of them is lovely.

The Serendipity actress walked the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards with a bouncy ponytail completely covered in tiny black ribbons. Created by celebrity hairstylist Scott King, the look was reminiscent of Beckinsale's usual hairstyle, but was candy-like for the red carpet to complement her glittering Atelier Zura gown and platform silver heels

"My inspiration for Kate's look was to take her signature ponytail and give it a softer, more sophisticated look. Kate loves ribbons and usually wears very large bows. We wanted to elevate her everyday look, so we added lots of little black ribbons to her ponytail to add more flair."

To create a voluminous updo with loose strands of hair in the front, King used UNITE Hair products and "tweaked the ponytail a bit to give it more bounce."

"Kate has such full hair with UNITE's BOOSTA Volumizing System. I use BOOSTA Volumizing Spray for prep and BOOSTA Finishing Spray for finishing," she told Marie Claire exclusively.

"Using these products together adds incredible volume and body."

Before anything else, he prepped Beckinsale's wet hair with 7SECONDS Detangler, BOOSTA Volumizing Spray, and a dime-sized amount of SMOOTH&SHINE Styling Cream. The next step was to blow-dry her lush locks, curl and set her hair for 20 minutes with a light spray of SESSION-MAX spray, and brush it all over. The blonde hair was then styled into a ponytail and the aforementioned BOOSTA finishing spray was used to add volume and hold, giving it a satin-like sheen.

Once everything was fixed, King gave the ponytail another (more generous) spray of SESSION-MAX to really secure it while Beckinsale presented the award for best female actor in a motion picture drama. But ...... How did he secure that ribbon?

"I bought a bunch of mini black ribbons online, just in case," King added. 'Ribbons are trendy right now, so I wanted to make sure I had plenty. I secured each one with a bobby pin."
