Lindsay Lohan reunites with Tina Fey and Rajiv Surendra (aka Kevin Gunapur) at "Mean Girls" premiere.
Lindsay Lohan (Cady Heron) reunites with her "Mean Girls" co-stars Tina Fey (Norbury) and Rajiv Surendra (Kevin Gunapur). In other words, it is a remake of the 2024 musical film.
Lohan looked flawless in a floor-length cut-out black gown with a silver glitter belt at the film's New York premiere on January 8. She wore her long fiery red hair down and side-parted, styled into flowing waves.
Throughout the event, she posed with "Mean Girls" creator Tina Fey and wore a polka-dot dress on the red carpet, a nod to her character in the original film.
Surendra also made sure to stay on theme by wearing a letterman jacket from "Mathletes" to look more fetching.
Talk of a Mean Girls sequel or cinematic reunion has been common in recent years. [For example, in 2022, Jonathan Bennett (the original Aaron Samuels) said he wanted to do a Christmas movie with Lindsay Lohan.
And in November 2023, several members of the original cast, including Lohan, Surendra, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert, actually reunited for a Mean Girls-themed Wal-Mart Black Friday commercial.
Seyfried and Lohan have also expressed clear interest in filming a sequel to the 2004 classic, but no word on that on Tina Fey's part.
Meanwhile, the new Mean Girls film, starring Rene Rapp as Regina George, Angourie Rice as Cady Heron, and Christopher Briney as Aaron Samuels, is scheduled for release on January 12.
