Selena Gomez's confidant assures her that she did not throw shade at Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet at the Golden Globe Awards.
Since the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, one question has been rocking the internet. What did Selena Gomez tell Keeley Teller and Taylor Swift?
It was sheer luck that the moment was caught on camera, or perhaps this is not so surprising given the number of cameras constantly following Swift.
Gomez can clearly be seen leaning over and whispering something. Swift and Teller look surprised, and when Teller asks what it is, Gomez nods.
But what did she say?
Internet sleuths who claim to be good lip-readers claim the conversation went something like this:
Gomez: I said I wanted to take a picture with him and she (Kylie Jenner) said no.
Teller: With Timothy?
*Gomez nods*
This is based on speculation by some fans on the internet and is not proven in any way.
In response, someone close to Gomez came forward to confirm that this is definitely not true. The source told People, "She never mentioned anything about Timothy or Kylie."
How can they be so sure that they are not Swift, Teller, or Gomez?
The source further confirmed that Gomez "has never met or spoken to them."
Jenner and Chalamet apparently spent most of the evening kissing and having intimate conversations and not much else; the only photo of the two together is of them at a table, with someone occasionally joining them.
Did Gomez really walk up to the table just to take a picture with Chalamet' Given that the two have never had a romantic relationship in the past, did Jenner reject this?
Chalamet and Gomez have a small history as co-stars: they both appeared on "A Rainy Day in New York," and he once appeared on Gomez's Instagram Live session and encouraged fans to vote.
Personally, I think she was too busy finding a place to secretly make out with boyfriend Benny Blanco to make it to Jenner and Chalamet's table.
But it begs the question: what did Gomez tell the girls that would shock them so much?
The mystery continues, but no more lip-reading, please.
