The next viral hair care brand is on its way.
I don't know about you all, but I am always on the lookout for new hair products. My hair is thin but dense and curly, which always makes it difficult to manage and style. As a result, I own a variety of hair products to strengthen and manage my hair, but often one or both of these needs are not met.
The Rootist is a new brand developed by the makers of Farmacy Beauty. The brand has six products so far, all of which are formulated to improve the health and appearance of the user's scalp and hair.
"Traditional hair care typically addresses either the hair or the scalp, rarely both. They also often address the "why" the problem occurs without thinking about it, which tends to result in products that only treat the symptoms and not the underlying cause (pardon the pun)," says Allison Yeh, chief brand officer of The Rootist. 'For strong, healthy hair, it's not just about the strands you see. Hair, roots, and scalp are part of an ecosystem. Hair, roots, and scalp are part of the ecosystem. So in all of our products, we view the roots, scalp, and hair as a single ecosystem. And we believe that only when we consider the ultimate health of all three will the strongest, healthiest hair take root."
And how the brand achieves this ambitious goal is by doing away with silicone- and water-intensive products and using concentrated products made even more potent by fermentation.
"We believe the future is fermentation," says Yeh. Fermentation has been the cornerstone of health for thousands of years, but it took modern biotechnology to bring the benefits of fermentation to our roots, scalp, and hair." Fermentation amplifies the power of already clinically effective ingredients and makes them more compatible with roots, scalp, and hair." "[A] multi-vitamin superfood designed for the ultimate health of roots, scalp, and hair," Yeh explains." It "helps establish roots, balance the scalp microbiome, and protect and strengthen hair. By minimizing the amount of water in the formula, The Rootist also reduces product waste. [Reishi and Centella asiatica also "strengthen the scalp's barrier function and promote the activation of the scalp microbiome, which is important for healthy hair but often overlooked. Overall, the line promises to enhance hair health and make hair look and feel better for longer.
I have tried The Rootist products myself and can attest to their effectiveness. In particular, the BioBrew Fermentation Enhanced Serum is my new best friend. Light and shiny, it only takes a few sprays to work, and it doesn't make my hair greasy. Plus, it smells great. Yeh calls this serum the hero product of the brand, which is a "one-stop store for all your hair needs," including straightening
. He says, "When you start thinking about the ecosystem, you'll see stronger, healthier hair begin to take root."
As of today, The Rootist can be purchased on Sephora's website. This is an exclusive partnership born out of the strong relationship between Farmacy Beauty founder David Chung and the beauty giant. Below is a list of The Rootists products that are a must-have in your beauty rotation.
