Popcorn in hand - Olivia Rodrigo says she's ready to go deep into acting
Olivia Rodrigo is ready to take a break from music and dive deeper into acting after her latest album, Guts, was named the Critics' Favorite Album of 2023.
Rodrigo is only 20 years old, but her career has already proven more successful than many twice her age. This urge to focus on acting may seem surprising, but it is important to remember that this is where this young star got her start.
Rodrigo starred in two Disney series: Bizaardvark and High School Musical: The Musical Series. Rodrigo left the latter in 2022 to pursue music.
She told Variety on the red carpet at the Governors Awards in support of her recent single "Can't Catch Me Now" from the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. soundtrack.
Rodrigo expressed that he misses acting, saying, "I love movies and I love telling stories."
This is fitting for a songwriter who was named Storyteller of the Year at last year's Variety Hitmakers Brunch.
What movie would Rodrigo like to be in?
"I really want to do a coming-of-age thing, maybe before I actually come of age. Maybe even already adulthood."
"I'd like to be in a movie. I love telling stories, whether it's songs or movies.Judging by her emotionally charged performance and heartfelt lyrics, whatever role she takes on next is sure to be a great one. Directors, you should jump on her while she is available!
Rodrigo also spoke about his dream collaboration with Noah Kahan: "I think he's great and very inspiring. I think he's so great and so inspirational."
Kahan is nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Rodrigo has already covered one of his best-known songs, "Stick Season," on BBC Live Lounge. Kahan then sang a cover of "lacy" from Rodrigo's latest album. So it seems that the collaboration is already in the works...
Now, to talk about this informative interview, we cannot fail to address how great she looked.
Rodrigo wore a sophisticated black strapless gown with an Old Hollywood vibe. Her vintage Yves Saint Laurent dress looked like velvet at the top, leading to shimmering satin.
She matched this look with a very natural face, except for a bold red lipstick to tie the whole look together.
For the hairstyle, Rodrigo took a cue from the "it" trend of 2023, and styled it into a sleek ponytail with an Ariana Grande-esque side parting.
When Rodrigo's film debut is released, I will be the first one in the movie theater to watch it, with a huge bag of popcorn on the side!
