James Blunt's Autograph Reduces the Value of His Books

James Blunt discovered some rather depressing news for everyone else, but thankfully the singer has his abiding sense of humor.

Brandt took to his favorite medium, Twitter, to share what he discovered while browsing the website of the British bookstore Waterstones.

"I'm researching how much my autograph is worth," he wrote, juxtaposing it with a screenshot of the retailer.

The screenshot shows two versions of Blunt's 2020 book, How to Be a Complete and Utter Blunt. The unsigned version costs £14.99 and the signed version costs £12.99, with his signature literally devaluing the book.

One commenter asked, "May I suggest using a pencil in the future?"

asked.

Another, referring to one of Brandt's two hit songs, wrote, "Did it disappoint you' Or let you down?"

Another joked, "Can you send me your autograph, £2 should cover the postage."

[14 In a twist of fate, How To Be A Complete and Utter Blunt is actually a humorous book about Blunt's rise to social media stardom thanks to his hilarious self-deprecating posts.

For example, in 2022, when people were up in arms about Spotify's Joe Rogan podcast and its vaccine misinformation, Blunt threatened to release a new song if the streaming platform did not do something about Rogan. The joke here is that many artists had threatened to (or actually did) remove their songs from Spotify for the same reason, because Brandt took a lot of flak for his two 2004 hits, "You're Beautiful" and "Goodbye My Lover", that he felt that releasing the songs would be worse punishment.

While I think Blunt is too hard on himself, I, like many others, appreciate the jokes I get from it.
