Selena Gomez's manicure on the cover of Fast Company is all business
Selena Gomez is a beauty queen not only because she somehow always looks flawless, but also because she is at the helm of a beauty empire.
The phenomenal success of Gomez's line, Rare Beauty, landed her on the prestigious cover of Fast Company's latest issue, and her entire beauty look was totally fab.
The star's hair was styled into a sophisticated low pony with a middle parting. Makeup included fluffed eyebrows, eyelash extensions and cat eyeliner, and a raspberry red gloss lip.
But one aspect of her glamorous look for coverage may have escaped your attention: her ever-so-slightly glowing neutral mani.
Gomez's manicure was courtesy of celebrity nail artist Tom Bacic, who also works with Jennifer Lopez, Hailee Steinfeld, and Charlize Theron.
For a look worthy of Gomez's cover, Bachik used what he called a "gorgeous, shiny nude" to create "lip gloss nails," whether it be at home with an LED lamp or bringing your own nail color to your local salon Regardless, it's super easy to recreate.
Bacik explains that "using a flawless manicure as a foundation," she "added a little length to glam it up and shaped her nails into tapered squares."
To achieve this look, Pro first applied a PLA base coat, two coats of PLA Fashionable Light, and sealed it with "a generous coat" of PLA non-wipe top coat. He then used a mixture of oils and creams to hydrate the star's cuticles and hands, ready for the close-up.
As an added bonus, PLA's products are non-toxic and safe for regular use as they do not contain the 10 chemicals commonly found in gel nail products. It's like a love song!
