Rihanna hits the town with new honey blonde hair
There is so much to say about Rihanna's latest, but let's cut to the chase: Rihanna has blonde hair. I repeat: Rihanna has blonde hair.
On Tuesday, October 3, the 35-year-old mullet hyphenate was spotted with A$AP Rocky in New York City. Her signature black hair had been transformed into a honey-toned blonde. She wore an all-black outfit (including foot-length boots) with huge hoop earrings and a diamond necklace, and her hair, with caramel-like highlights, was styled into a Pam Anderson-style updo on top of her head. The rest of her hair strands were twisted and secured safely at the crown, and a heavy side bang was nestled behind her sunglasses.
This isn't the first time the Fenty mogul has rocked blonde hair, but it's been a long time coming: in November 2009, she went with a similar color and a short, swooping cut, and in the 2011 music video for "You Da One," she added a bit more length, bleached and straight bangs. The following year, she lengthened it even more.
Still, in recent years, she has mostly opted for shades reminiscent of her natural hair, often rocking red. For Valentine's Day last year, she added a touch of pink.
It's no secret that Rihanna likes change, so we don't know how long this style will last or why she chose it. Still, it is worth noting that her recent honey hair debut took place on boyfriend Asap Rocky's birthday.
Rihanna rocked the look on her date to Carbone with her 35-year-old boyfriend, and the "L$D" singer adorned her head with a pearlized hair clip. That doesn't mean the bedazzled accessory outshines blonde RiRi, even if it belongs to the birthday boy.
Over the years, the stylish duo, who have two children together, have been known to share their love for each other through the 'gram; in March 2023, Asap Rocky gave Rihanna a special manicure in honor of her first Oscar nomination. Frankly, we wish we could do the same.
