Princess Kate, because of her work and fame, "probably feels quite lonely," says a royal expert.
The Princess of Wales is almost always surrounded by people, whether at work, at home with her husband and three children, or in public where large crowds of people want to meet her. But despite being surrounded by people, one royal expert said that Kate may be heading toward a more isolated period in office, heading into "uncharted waters" after being placed in a "solitary position."
Indeed, Kate's "incredible success" in her work - she is taking on more duties and working harder than ever since the late King's passing in September 2022 - and her popularity at a level that even royal members can hardly relate to, have made her a unique position within the office
"She has taken on more duties and worked harder than ever before.
"In a way, I think Kate feels quite alone," royal expert Dr. Tessa Dunlop told the Daily Express. 'She's broken out of the category of the loner ranger or rich girl in her home county and become this stratospheric, well-known and influential figure. So it's fortunate that she has a good relationship with her mother and a good relationship with her sister."
Dunlop added that although Kate was in some ways an "outsider," she was "an incredibly successful import to the royal family." Princess Diana died tragically in a car crash in Paris at the age of 36. Because of this, Kate stepped into "uncharted" territory, Dunlop said.
"She [Princess Diana] died before she was Kate's age. 'She [Diana] died before she was Kate's age. Kate is now in uncharted territory in modern history. The role of the future queen is a very influential one, and this is all about soft power."
