Selena Gomez on helping her sister Gracie "keep perspective"

Selena Gomez is a passionate advocate for mental health.

She has been open about living with bipolar disorder in the past and even produced a documentary film about it, My Mind and Me. The star also founded the Rare Impact Fund, a charity that supports mental health-related causes, and held its first fundraising gala last week.

In addition, Gomez co-founded the mental health platform Wondermind, which helps shed light on all things related to mental health.

On Tuesday, Wondermind released a short Q&A with Gomez, revealing some of the most valuable mental health lessons she has learned over the years.

When asked what her favorite thing to do when spending a mental health day is, Gomez replied, "Spending time with my sister Gracie. She is so innocent and pure. She helps me see life through. It's funny because she's 10 and I'm 31, but even though we have such a big age difference, I love her advice. She is so wise."

Gomez and Gracie are super close, and the pop star often takes the girl as an adorable date to fancy industry events, like at the Golden Globe Awards in January.

After that event, the star unfortunately received body-shaming online, and she replied to those comments on Instagram Live, which apparently featured her biggest supporter, Gracie.

In other parts of the interview, Gomez was asked for her best mental health advice for those suffering.

"I don't like to give advice because I don't have all the answers," she explained. 'But find a friend or family member you feel comfortable talking to and confide in them about how you're feeling. It is very freeing to confide in someone. Being vulnerable is very empowering."

Meanwhile, WonderMind is launching a limited edition "Check-In Hoodie," with proceeds going to the New York chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. For the coziest act of your kindness, buy it below!
