The Washington, D.C., mansion where former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy lived after JFK's death in November 1963 is going up for auction, People reported.The 13-bedroom Georgetown property, located at 3017 N Street NW, was listed in March for $2, 6.5 million, and bidding began yesterday, with each participant required to pay a $100,000 bid deposit. The starting bid price is expected to range from $5 million to $11 million. [The property has 13 bedrooms plus 13 full bathrooms (and 5 half baths!). with a total of 13 full bathrooms (and 5 half baths!). The property is currently still listed with Sotheby's International Realty at a discounted price of $19.5 million, but will soon belong to the highest bidder in an auction arranged through Concierge Auctions.

Since Jackie has lived there, it has been owned by such notables as Georgetown Mayor Thomas Beale, former Miss America Yolande Fox, and Secretary of the Army Newton D. Baker. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since Jackie's residence, the mansion has undergone major changes, renovations, and merged with two other residences to form one huge mansion, "People" reports. The mansion has a total area of 15,300 square feet.

The brick and concrete mansion was built in 1794 and features a luxurious reception hall leading to the second floor with a primary suite with spa bathroom. This room also has a balcony overlooking the backyard. Amenities of this historic home include an updated kitchen, an Italianate rec room, and a three-car garage.

Jackie's former home has been put up for sale elsewhere in the past decade, including her childhood home (a 4,291-square-foot summer home in East Hampton, NY), which sold for $7.5 million in 2020, and a 2017 $49.5 million another home she grew up in along the Potomac River in Virginia.
