Britney Spears Entrusts Audiobook Narration to a Celebrity We Didn't Expect
Britney Spears' highly anticipated memoir, The Woman in Me, is just 10 days away from its October 24 release date, and the audiobook has an unexpected celebrity as narrator. It is five-time Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams, who "will handle the bulk of Spears' life story, and the pop superstar will introduce herself," Access reports.
Spears told Access about the confessional book and the emotional upheaval she experienced over its creation, saying through a statement "how difficult this process was and how she decided to have an artist she trusted read her words." The outlet reported.
"The book was a labor of love and all the emotions that come with it," Spears said. 'Reliving it all was exciting, heartbreaking, and emotional, to say the least. For those reasons, I will only be reading from a small portion of the audiobook. I am very grateful to the wonderful Michelle Williams for reading the rest."
In the same announcement, Williams no doubt endorses Spears: "I am on Britney's side."
"Woman in Me" is "a brave and surprisingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope," shedding light on "the enduring power of music and love and the importance of women finally telling their own stories, in their own words, with remarkable candor and Written with humor," added the book's publisher, Simon & Schuster. [The book will be released on October 24 and is also available as an audiobook.
