Pete Davidson hints at feud with Kanye West in SNL "I'm Just Ken" parody

Pete Davidson featured Ryan Gosling's Barbie movie song "I'm Just Ken" on this weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live, calling it "I'm Just Pete."

The skit featured Davidson saying, "Excited for a fun week!" begins with him coming to work on the show with a cake that says, "I'm excited for a fun week!" and overhears several writers bad-mouthing him for returning to SNL so soon after his departure (he left in May 2022).

Then a depressed Pete starts singing, alluding to the things he does when he's raunchy and the insults hurled at him ("anal eyes" being one of them) and making fun of himself.

Then comes the chorus: [but it is the last two lines of the chorus that really made me laugh:

It is still referred to as "Skete" on the Internet.

West called Davidson "Skete" when the comedian was dating rapper's ex-wife Kim Kardashian, using it as shorthand to harass Davidson. This escalated, and the comedian reportedly underwent trauma therapy as a result of West's behavior.

The second chorus further alludes to Davidson's very public love affair. It goes like this:

I'm just PeteMy dating life is not discreetI generate tons of publicityFor everything except my comedyI'm just Pete and I like jugsI'm mentally ill and I'm on drugsBut, hey, I'm still in Super Bowl commercials

Davidson is not only a Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Phoebe Daimber, Emily Latakowski Madeline Klein, and Margaret Quarrie, and is also known for dating.

Aside from Davidson's triumphant return, Saturday's episode of SNL generated a ton of headlines thanks to super brief cameos by both Taylor Swift and Travis Kells, who have reportedly been dating for several weeks.
